Cybersecurity Industry Names Awake A Company to Watch (Again)

Over the course of 2019, our team’s ingenuity and dedication to continuous product innovation has earned Awake noteworthy praise across the industry from analysts and influencers alike. And just this month, we’ve earned a spot on two more prestigious lists.

Most recently, Cybersecurity Ventures’ Steve Morgan included Awake on the firm’s first-ever Hot 150 list of pure-play cybersecurity companies, recognizing our work with analytics, AI & machine learning. The 150 list discerns the “hottest and most innovative companies” to watch in a very crowded cybersecurity market – one that has thousands of startups producing products and services all geared toward combating cybercrime. Companies making the list faced rigorous selection criteria, which included feedback from CISOs, decision makers, IT security evaluators, and more. Being a best place to work also weighed on the rankings of who made the list. Our team took home this honor multiple times in 2019, with Awake being named a Best Place to Work by Inc. Magazine and the San Francisco Business Times.

Earlier in the month, Awake landed on Jeff Vance’s Big50-2019 Startup Report. Jeff is the founder of Startup50.com and regular contributor to Network World. His Big50 Startup Report is an annual list of startups featuring a combination of strong fundamentals (funding, team, named customers), market opportunity (current size, growth potential), and market niche (product-market fit, current demand). Awake is included as one of the startups best suited to “raise awareness and help enterprises avoid become collateral damage in Cold War 2.0.” The report can be accessed by subscribing to Jeff’s newsletter.

Earlier this year, Awake was also recognized by Business Insider as one of the most promising cybersecurity companies in 2019, and named in Gartner’s first market guide for network traffic analysis.

All these accolades don’t just happen out of sheer luck. Our team has worked tirelessly to put out a product that delivers 1500% fewer “noisy” alerts and enables security teams to reliably validate 2.5X more threats than the competition, as proven by independent third-party testing. It is no surprise then that according to Enterprise Technology Research’s Summer 2019 Emerging Technology Study, there is a higher rate of IT decision makers at Global 1000 companies who are “currently evaluating” our technology more than any other vendor included in their survey on privately-held cybersecurity vendors.

It’s an exciting time to be a part of the Awake Security team. 2019 started off with a bang and we expect even bigger things to come in 2020. If you’re interested in joining a hot, growing cybersecurity company with a bright future, check out our careers page and get in touch.
